This week we have news from the latest 3.7 release of Ember π, an exclusive contributor interview with @serenaf π, and a new RFC on Restructuring the Guides Table of Contents π for you!
In the past week version 3.7 of Ember.js, Ember CLI and Ember Data has been released. The new release comes with lots of important bug fixes for Ember and new features for Ember CLI, including a new compatibility table for addon authors to be used in their projects' READMEs.
This week we'd like to highlight the work of community member Serena Fritsch, also known as @serenaf. In an exclusive interview with the Ember Times she talks about her learnings contributing to the Ember Deprecations App and why she believes that every contribution counts.
The Ember.js Guides are getting a makeover to improve the learning story of Ember and to modernize concepts that were once new, when the Guides were originally written. @jenweber put up an RFC (Request for Comments) on Restructuring the Guides Table of Contents (TOC) in order to achieve this goal.
This RFC aims not to write new content but to present existing content in a different way without breaking any existing URLs. It does this by revamping topic naming β or changing topic names to general web development concepts rather than Ember-specific jargon β and logic ordering and grouping β where it breaks up content between requiring prior knowledge of Ember concepts or not. These changes aim to promote an easier learning curve for new and existing users of the framework by leveraging the userβs existing knowledge.
